New Beginnings

There is just one life. Although I’m working on that assumption, I’d really, secretly, like to be pleasantly surprised. Two would be great! How fantastic would three be? Four? The different people we could meet, the amazing things we could do! My goodness, but how great is the one we have now? Or so it could be…

I’m increasingly thinking that the whole of life is an adventure. It is just such a shame that it takes half of life to realise that! Or it took me that much time, anyway, so well played to all you insightful folks that realised that before!

I have packed my camping equipment in the Ben Meister Mobile, but I still have a number of things on the living room floor in front of me. From left to right: rucksack, towels, trousers, 5 pairs of socks, 5 pairs of pants, 2 strangely scary passport photos of a serial killer look-a-like (me) a scarf, passport, camera, a small pile of winter tops, a smaller pile of summer tops and, essential to any travel anywhere, some baby wipes! And a wooden spoon! Really? What was the thought process, behind that? Goodness knows, but there probably was one, so in it goes! I also have the Doody Stone, a small block of labradorite, which was given to me by a very cool dude before my last travels, so I’m all set in terms of things.

Am I mentally set? I don’t know, which is a really nice not sort of knowing. The very tips of my toes are on the Rubicon. I have a vision of openness and far away grandeur, of forests and bison, a sense of evolving and of travelling and not quite arriving. It will be a life in motion. To quote a friend’s blog: ‘I travel, not to escape life, but to ensure that life does not escape me’. I really want to meet this person called Life and, after a good chat, I’d like to think that I know and like that person a lot.

Quote for the bibliophile in you... “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” Enjoy your trip, let's catch up on chapter 2! :-) Mx
